Malone In The Community
Situated in East Belfast, Malone RFC is proud of it's cross community initiatives
instigated by the legendary past President, Bryce Fleming.
School kids from across the Belfast divide have been made to feel welcome at the
club and many have progressed from learning the rudiments of the game to playing
senior level rugby. Where possible the club provides transport and equipment and
coaching takes place in a safe and healthy environment.
Our player intake includes pupils from non-rugby playing schools, integrated sectors,
the traditional communities and ethic minority groups.
A recent development is the Club Energise sponsored Mini Rugby Tournament, which involves teams from across the UK and Ireland in a two-day competition. This offers
young players the opportunity to build links and encourage friendships between clubs
to improve and hone skills on a national basis.
The first ever 2004 competition proved to be such a success that teams from France
and Italy will be invited to participate
