We at Malone Rugby Football Club are in our 116th year and have been residents at Gibson Park for over 70 years. As one of the biggest rugby clubs in Ireland and the only club in the local area we are taking the opportunity to remind local businesses of our contribution to the sport and local community and invite them to be part of our success. At Malone we have been developing mini, youth and senior rugby for over 100 years and boast a total of twenty two Malone players having represented Ireland in full internationals, had six British Lions, seven IRFU or SRU tourists and eight Barbarians. Our development of mini rugby, which has been enhanced through our work with local Primary Schools, now attracts over 140 youngsters every Saturday placing rugby very much as a sport for all ages, in fact we are now the largest growing mini rugby club in the UK, and are again set to host this years mini International Festival of Rugby (IFOR) world cup for the forth time. Currently Malone also host the Ulster Tag Tournament which sees corporate and club teams from all over the province compete every Wednesday and Thursday evening, the league now totals over 600 participants. We also successfully hosted the group stages of the U19 Rugby World cup, held here in Ulster for the first time. All these events are given coverage on our current and popular website. To assist in our growth and development of the sport we are looking for local businesses to form partnerships with the club. Support of Malone will undoubtedly help to raise awareness of your company to a wide audience. The club attracts a high footfall at all hosted All Ireland League and Ulster league games, and at regular special events. These events often attract local TV coverage. The club house also provides facilities for ladies hockey and rugby and local community and national events.
