It is with great sadness that the Malone Rugby family learn about the passing of Patrick ‘Chippy’ Baird. Chippy has been part of the fabric of Malone for much of his life playing on many of the club teams as a young boy and playing key roles more recently as our Club President and Chairman. Over recent years he worked tirelessly dedicating his time, energy and expertise to the betterment of every aspect of club life.
It was always about the club for Chippy and making it a fun, inclusive and welcoming environment. His loss is a huge blow to our club and our sympathies lie with Siona and their two boys Jamie and Ryan who he proudly watched from the sidelines playing on the minis. He was a devoted husband, father and a Malone man, taken too soon you will be greatly missed.
