Malone grab a win on the road against Blackrock College

Malone take the away win against Blackrock College by 18-24.

The homeside took an early lead after a penalty and an unconverted try gave them a 8-0 lead. The held their lead until the 31st minute when a Dave Cave try, converted by Mark O'Connor reduced the deficit to a single point.

3 minutes later Malone crept ahead when Michael Shiels touched down with Mark O'Connor again adding the extras to take the visitors into a 8-14 lead. The home side missed a penalty opportunity as the first half drew to a close the halftime score still 8-14.

On 58 minutes Mark O'Connor struck a penalty to extend the visitors lead to 8-17. On 68 minutes Malone extended their lead when full back Jack Owens scored a try which was again converted by Mark O'Connor to leave the score 8-24.

The homeside played their way back into the game with 2 unconverted tries on 72 and 75 minutes, reducing the arrears to 6 points leaving the score 18-24. There were no further scores and at the final whistle Malone took the win and gains a very important away win. The homeside taking a losing bonus point for their efforts.
