The halftime score saw Shannon St narys ahead by 11-3, Shannons points came from a try and 2 penaltys while Malone had a single penalty score from Tim Durkan.
The second half saw Shannon St marys score an early try from Dave Evans which was converted 18-3.
On 50 minutes Malone scored a second penalty, 18-6, Shannons Conor Burns replied with a penalty on 60 minutes to take the score to 21-6.
Malone then upped the pressure and scored a great try from winger Jack McMurtry which was not converted 21-11. Connor Burns missed a penalty for Shannon St Marys on 65 minutes and Malone added to their tally with a try in the corner on 72 minutes which again was not converted. 21-16
Shannon St Marys dug deep and withstood further Malone pressure but as the game ended it was Shannon St Marys who maintained their lead and won the game by 21-16 to become All Ireland Champions.
Certainly not the result we had hoped for but a magnificent effort by a committed and passionate side. A shannon supporter siad this on twitter.
We have to give huge respect to Malone for their battling spirit.They never gave up and are a credit to their club.
