U18's win against rejuvenated Banbridge

With Ards unable to field in the league, we hastily arranged a replacement fixture with Banbridge, who returned to U18s league this year, having been unable to field last season.

Again, it was played as 3 x 20 periods so the coaches could rotate players and try various formations. Malone again started very strongly and scored within a couple of minutes after a powerful run by Matty H from inside his own 10m to evade several tackles and score just right of the posts. Remarkably (and what was to be a problem today, Matty Mc didn't seem to be wearing his kicking boots) the conversion was missed.

Although Banbridge played some good rugby, they never really came to threaten Malone's line and overall Malone were just too strong over all areas of the park, running in a total of 9 tries over the three periods.
It was good to see Banbridge back in youth rugby, and we look forward to meeting them again later this season in the league.
